Karachi Exam Paper Leak Raises Fairness Concerns

Karachi Exam Paper Leak Raises Fairness Concerns

A Karachi exam paper leak has raised serious concerns about the credibility of the examination system. The class 10 chemistry paper reportedly appeared online before the exam started. This incident has shaken public trust and raised questions about fairness.

Repeated Leaks Raise Questions

Reports said the paper circulated on social media nearly 30 minutes before the exam. This situation challenged claims by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi about strict security measures. Officials had promised better coordination to prevent such incidents.
However, this is not an isolated case. On 20 April, chemistry and English papers also leaked shortly before exams in Karachi and Larkana. In addition, a first-year physics paper leaked minutes before an exam in Larkana. The Federal Investigation Agency has launched investigations into these incidents. Authorities have already made several arrests linked to the leaks. As a result, pressure is growing on officials to strengthen monitoring systems.
Reports also suggest that organized groups helped students during exams. They shared answers through platforms like WhatsApp. This activity has raised further concerns about transparency and equal opportunity.

Calls for Accountability and Reform

The repeated Karachi exam paper leak incidents have triggered public criticism. Many people now question the effectiveness of current safeguards. Moreover, calls for stricter oversight continue to grow.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Larkana has also faced criticism for its response. Observers believe authorities must take stronger and faster action.
More than 385,000 students are appearing for exams across 521 centres in Karachi. Therefore, ensuring fairness is essential for their future. These incidents highlight the urgent need for accountability and reform.
