The suspect is Cole Tomas Allen, 31. Officers subdued him after a brief gunfire exchange. Allen shot a federal agent wearing a bullet-proof vest. The agent survived. Trump is expected to attend several high-profile events this year. These include the World Cup and events for the 250th anniversary of the US in July.
Meeting to Discuss Protocol
A senior White House official said Trump “personally thinks they [the Secret Service] did an excellent job”. However, a meeting will still take place. White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles will lead it. Representatives from the Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security will attend.The meeting will “discuss protocol and practices” for major events.
