Karachi Employee Verification Drive Begins in Town Administrations
Karachi employee verification has started after the Sindh Local Government Department launched a major review of town administration staff. Officials took this step after reports of fake appointments and illegal promotions surfaced in several areas. As a result, employees must now complete service verification before receiving salaries through the SAP system.
Local Government Karachi Regional Director Muhammad Ramzan Pathan issued the new orders. He also directed all town HR directors to appear with complete employee records on scheduled dates. Authorities will begin the first phase of scrutiny on May 18 in Ibrahim Hyderi, Malir, and Gadap towns.
Authorities Expand Employee Record Checks
Officials will review records from New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, and Liaquatabad on May 19 and 20. Meanwhile, teams will inspect records from Manghopir, Orangi, and Mominabad on May 21 and June 1.
Authorities also instructed Model Colony and Shah Faisal towns to complete verification by June 2. In addition, officials scheduled Korangi and Landhi towns for June 3. Review teams will then examine records from Maripur, Mauripur Meer Bahar, and Baldia on June 4 and 8.
Government Aims to Improve Transparency
The verification process will continue across Karachi throughout June. For example, officials will inspect records from Sohrab Goth, Safoora, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal on June 9 and 10. Teams will also review employee files from Jinnah, Chanesar, Saddar, and Lyari between June 11 and 15.
Officials believe the campaign will improve transparency in local government offices. Therefore, the department hopes to remove fake employees and stop illegal promotions. The review may also strengthen public trust in Karachi’s town administrations and improve accountability across the system.
