Karachi Crackdown Begins Against Illegal Wires and Advertisement Boards

Karachi illegal wires will face strict action as city authorities launch a major crackdown from Monday. Officials will remove unnecessary wires and unauthorized advertisement boards placed on roads without approval. The campaign aims to improve safety, reduce visual pollution, and restore the city’s appearance. Authorities believe illegal cables and boards create traffic hazards and damage Karachi’s beauty. As a result, departments will begin inspections across major roads and highways. Citizens have also welcomed the move and hope it will improve public spaces across the city.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced the operation on Sunday. He said authorities would remove extra wires hanging across different highways and busy roads. In addition, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has started removing wall chalking from public places. Officials say wall chalking and illegal advertisements make roads look untidy and negatively affect the city’s image. Therefore, teams will monitor several areas during the campaign. Authorities also warned that they would take strict action against people who damage the beauty of Karachi’s main roads and public areas.

Authorities Focus on Cleaner Roads

Officials say the operation will continue in phases across different parts of Karachi. Teams will inspect highways, markets, and commercial areas where illegal boards and cables appear frequently.
Furthermore, departments will coordinate with utility services and local administrations to speed up the work. Authorities believe cleaner roads can improve the city’s overall environment and help residents feel safer.

City Plans to Restore Street Lights

The city administration also plans to restore damaged street lights in several areas. Officials said all possible steps would be taken to improve lighting on important roads and highways. Better lighting may also help reduce accidents and improve traffic flow at night.
