Karachi authorities have started a major operation against illegal cattle markets before Eidul Azha. The action began on the instructions of Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi. Officials said several teams removed unauthorized animal sale points across the city. Police also supported the district administration during the crackdown. As a result, authorities arrested many people and registered multiple cases.
Authorities Clear Markets Across Karachi
Officials removed an illegal cattle market in Shah Faisal Colony during a recent operation. The administration also arrested one person at the site. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Central Taha Saleem said teams cleared another market near Piyala Hotel. In addition, officials deployed staff there to stop traders from returning.
According to DC Central, authorities had cleared the same location several times earlier. However, illegal trading activities continued in the area. Therefore, officials increased monitoring and enforcement. They believe strict action will help maintain order before Eidul Azha.
In Korangi, Deputy Commissioner Masood Bhutto confirmed operations in several neighborhoods. Teams removed illegal setups from Makhdoom Society, Korangi No. 5, Nasir Jump, New Town, Chakra Goth, Shah Faisal, and Reta Plot. Consequently, traffic conditions improved in many busy areas.
Administration Focuses on Traffic and Cleanliness
Meanwhile, DC Keamari Ameer Afzal Awaisi said authorities also cleared illegal animal markets near the Mauripur truck stand. Officials explained that these markets created severe traffic problems on roads leading to Hawkes Bay.
Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi said illegal cattle markets created sanitation issues and traffic congestion across Karachi. Therefore, district administrations will continue operations with police support. Officials aim to improve public convenience and maintain city order before Eidul Azha.
