PM Shehbaz China Agreements Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang signed several agreements in Beijing on Monday. The two leaders witnessed the exchange of MoUs, protocols, and cooperation documents. These agreements aim to strengthen ties between Pakistan and China. The visit also marked 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Earlier, PM Shehbaz started his four-day China visit from Hangzhou before arriving in Beijing for official meetings.

Pakistan, China Expand Trade and Agriculture Cooperation

During the meetings, both sides discussed trade, investment, agriculture, science, technology, and CPEC projects. They signed several agreements to improve agricultural cooperation. These documents covered maize exports, dried fruits, nuts, and animal vaccines. In addition, both countries agreed to increase development cooperation in the agriculture sector.
The two governments also signed MoUs on economic development and support for free trade. Officials said these agreements would create new business opportunities and encourage regional growth. As a result, Pakistan and China expect stronger economic cooperation in the future. Both sides also promised to continue working together on international economic challenges.

Education, Climate, and Media Partnerships Strengthen

Pakistan and China signed several agreements in education and governance as well. These included exchange programmes, training partnerships, and human resource development plans for 2026. Furthermore, both countries agreed to improve cooperation in science, technology, and climate change initiatives.
Media organisations from both countries also signed partnership agreements. These deals will support news sharing and documentary production. Meanwhile, Zhejiang Province and Punjab Province established a new sister-province relationship. Officials believe this partnership will promote cultural, economic, and people-to-people exchanges between both regions.
