Pur Azm Pakistan Launches New Pathways for Youth Skills and Jobs

The government has launched Pur Azm Pakistan to help young people gain skills and access better career opportunities. The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme introduced the initiative in partnership with Unicef and Generation Unlimited. The platform aims to connect education, training, employment, and entrepreneurship. As a result, more young people can move from learning to earning.
PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said Pakistan’s youth are the country’s biggest asset. He explained that the initiative will build stronger links between education and employment. Therefore, young people will have more opportunities to contribute to economic growth.

Addressing Youth Employment Challenges

Pakistan has one of the largest youth populations in the world. Nearly 67 percent of the population is under 30 years old. However, around 32 million young people remain outside education, employment, or training.
Pur Azm Pakistan aims to change this situation. The platform brings together government institutions, businesses, development partners, and young people. In addition, it focuses on helping girls and youth from underserved communities.
Unicef Representative Pernille Ironside said Pakistan has a unique opportunity to benefit from its young population. She noted that the country can create large-scale pathways from learning to earning. Consequently, more young people can secure meaningful economic opportunities.

Public and Private Sectors Join Hands

The launch also introduced Friends of GenU Pakistan. This new platform encourages businesses to invest in young talent. Companies can support skills training, entrepreneurship, innovation, and workplace learning programs.
Generation Unlimited CEO Kevin Frey said collaboration remains essential for long-term success. He added that businesses, government agencies, and young people can work together to unlock greater economic potential.
The event featured a Learn-to-Earn Marketplace. Young entrepreneurs showcased innovative ideas and businesses from across Pakistan. Participants also discussed digital jobs, green economy opportunities, skills reforms, and entrepreneurship.
Through these efforts, Pur Azm Pakistan hopes to help millions of young people build successful careers. Ultimately, the initiative aims to strengthen the economy and create a brighter future for Pakistan’s next generation.
