SHEC Blockchain Skills Initiative Opens New Opportunities for Sindh Students
Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC) has launched a Blockchain Skills Initiative to help students build modern digital skills. The program aims to prepare young people for emerging technology careers. It will also help them understand the growing role of blockchain in different industries.
SHEC introduced the initiative through its Directorate of Strategic Planning. The commission wants to connect students with industry-focused learning opportunities. As a result, participants will gain practical knowledge that can improve their career prospects.
Scholarships and University Partnerships
SHEC will provide an 85 percent scholarship to selected students. Therefore, participants will pay only Rs5,000 as their share of the fee. The total training cost for each student stands at Rs33,300. The commission has partnered with four leading universities for the program. These institutions include NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, IBA Karachi, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, and Sukkur IBA University. Moreover, these universities will support training activities and help students develop professional skills. The partnership also strengthens collaboration between academia and the technology sector.
Hands-On Training in Blockchain Technology
The program will train 160 students from different parts of Sindh. It focuses on practical learning instead of theory alone. Students will work on real-world concepts and industry-relevant projects. The curriculum covers blockchain fundamentals, blockchain security, decentralized applications, cryptocurrency systems, and smart contracts. In addition, students will receive hands-on experience in smart contract development.
For example, participants will learn how blockchain solutions work in modern digital environments. They will also explore innovative applications of the technology. As a result, students will gain valuable expertise in a rapidly growing field. The Blockchain Skills Initiative reflects SHEC’s commitment to promoting digital innovation and preparing students for future opportunities in the technology-driven economy.
