PTDC Hosts Mobile Journalism Workshop for Youth Tourism Videography Competition 2026

A mobile journalism workshop was held in Islamabad to train young content creators in digital storytelling and tourism filmmaking. The one-day session took place at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) under the National Youth Mobile Travel & Tourism Videography Competition 2026. The event brought together 60 participants from across Pakistan.
The workshop aimed to equip young people with practical skills to create engaging tourism content using smartphones. As a result, participants learned how to document Pakistan’s cultural heritage, historical sites, natural beauty, and human stories through digital media.

Training Builds Digital Storytelling Skills

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) organised the training session. Experts guided participants through mobile documentary filmmaking techniques. For example, they explained how to select topics, conduct historical research, and plan visual storytelling.
In addition, trainers taught mobile cinematography for heritage documentation. Participants also learned ethical tourism reporting, sound recording, and interview techniques. Therefore, they gained a clear understanding of professional content creation standards.
The workshop also covered editing short documentary films. Trainers demonstrated voice-over production, background music integration, and content optimisation for digital platforms. These sessions helped participants understand how to create engaging and shareable tourism videos.

Hands-On Learning for Future Creators

The training combined theory with practical exercises. Participants worked on real examples and used mobile tools to produce sample content. As a result, they developed confidence in using smartphones as powerful storytelling devices.
Experts in digital media and journalism delivered the sessions. They shared their experience in content development, communication strategy, and storytelling techniques. In addition, they encouraged participants to highlight positive narratives about Pakistan’s tourism potential.
The initiative reflects PTDC’s goal of empowering young storytellers. It also supports the growth of digital tourism promotion in Pakistan. Therefore, the workshop helps prepare a new generation of creators who can showcase the country’s beauty to global audiences.
