NFC University Sealed in Faisalabad Over Rs83.9 Million Property Tax Dues

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has taken strict action after NFC University was sealed in Faisalabad over alleged non-payment of property tax. According to officials, the university owed Rs83.9 million in outstanding property tax dues. As a result, authorities sealed the campus located on Jaranwala

Road and suspended its operations.

The development has attracted significant attention in Faisalabad and across Punjab. Officials stated that the department repeatedly contacted the institution regarding the unpaid tax amount. However, the dues reportedly remained outstanding despite several notices and reminders.

Excise Department Conducts Sealing Operation

A team from the Excise and Taxation Department reached the university premises and carried out the operation. Officials completed all legal requirements before initiating the sealing process. In addition, the department formally closed the campus under relevant tax recovery laws.
Authorities said the university accumulated property tax arrears over an extended period. Therefore, the department decided to proceed with enforcement measures to recover government revenue. Officials described the outstanding amount as a substantial liability that required immediate action. During the operation, departmental staff sealed the premises and documented the proceedings. Furthermore, officials emphasized that all institutions must comply with tax regulations regardless of their status or sector.

Focus on Revenue Recovery and Compliance

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of property tax compliance in Punjab. The Excise and Taxation Department continues efforts to improve tax collection and reduce unpaid dues across the province. As a result, authorities have intensified monitoring and enforcement activities. Officials believe timely tax payments play a vital role in supporting public services and development projects. They also stressed that enforcement actions help ensure fairness among taxpayers. Consequently, organizations that fail to meet their obligations may face legal consequences.
Local observers view the case as one of the most significant tax enforcement actions in Faisalabad in recent months. Meanwhile, authorities have indicated that the university’s future operations will depend on compliance with legal requirements and settlement of the outstanding dues. The case serves as a reminder that tax laws apply to all institutions and that authorities remain committed to enforcing financial regulations across Punjab.
