UAE Expands Visa-Free Entry for Six Countries

UAE Expands Visa-Free Entry for Six Countries

The United Arab Emirates has expanded its visa-on-arrival program significantly. Six countries now qualify for this streamlined entry process. Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa are included. Accompanying family members also benefit from this new decision. The initiative reflects the UAE’s flexible entry and residency framework.

Eligibility Requirements and Visa Types

Applicants must hold ordinary passports from the eligible countries. They also need a valid residence permit from specific nations. These include the US, EU member states, the UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. The UAE offers either a 14-day or 60-day visa on arrival.
The 14-day visa may be extended once during the stay. The 60-day visa is issued for a single stay only. Neither visa allows for permanent residency. Holders must depart upon expiry of their visa. An overstay fine of AED50 per day applies to violators. The total issuance fee for the 14-day visa is AED 100. The 60-day visa costs AED 250. These fees are reasonable compared to other countries.

Official Statements and Strategic Goals

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. The initiative fosters closer economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties. Nationals can now experience the UAE’s world-class tourism offerings more easily. The country’s dynamic economy and attractive business environment await visitors.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security stated that the new amendments enhance the visa framework. The authority works to expand the scope of beneficiaries. They align services with global best practices in travel and tourism.
