TikTok Singapore Layoffs Impact Trust and Safety Team

TikTok Singapore layoffs have affected more than 20 employees from the company’s trust and safety team. The job cuts are part of a broader global restructuring aimed at improving operational efficiency. According to reports, affected employees were informed after the company announced an organizational restructure. The layoffs took effect immediately. The trust and safety team plays an important role in content moderation and user protection. Therefore, the changes have drawn attention across the technology industry.
In a message to employees, Sandeep Grover said the company is reorganizing to become more agile and better prepared for future challenges.

Global Changes Continue Across TikTok

A spokesperson for TikTok confirmed the restructuring. The company said it is strengthening its global operating model by centralizing parts of its trust and safety workforce into key operating hubs. In addition, TikTok stated that technological innovation will continue to improve platform safety. The company also said support is being provided to affected employees. Reports suggest the restructuring is not limited to Singapore. Employees in Malaysia and Indonesia have also reported job losses. Meanwhile, media reports indicate that TikTok could reduce around 300 positions at its Dublin office. This is not the first workforce reduction in Singapore. Earlier this year, TikTok reportedly cut several trust and safety roles during another restructuring exercise.
The latest TikTok Singapore layoffs reflect a wider trend across the technology sector. Many companies are adjusting their workforce while investing in automation and artificial intelligence. As businesses reshape operations, employee support and platform safety remain key priorities.
