HEC BS Scholarships Open for Central Asia Students in Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opened applications for HEC BS scholarships under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship for Central Asia and Friendly Countries. The fully funded programme offers international students the opportunity to complete undergraduate studies at Pakistani universities. HEC will accept applications until 10 August 2026. The scholarship covers academic costs and living expenses throughout the degree programme.

Scholarship covers tuition and living expenses

HEC said the scholarship will pay tuition fees for selected students. In addition, recipients will receive free hostel accommodation, a monthly stipend and one-time settlement support. The award also includes travel expenses and one return airfare during the degree programme.
Students can apply for several academic disciplines. These include Engineering and Technology, Computer Science and Information Technology, Allied Health Sciences, Business and Economics, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Food Security, International Relations, Media and Languages. Therefore, applicants from different educational backgrounds can find suitable programmes.
The commission said the scholarship aims to strengthen educational cooperation with Central Asian countries and other friendly nations. It also seeks to promote cultural exchange and academic collaboration through higher education.

Eligibility and application process

Applicants must have GCE A Levels or an equivalent qualification with at least 60 percent marks. However, students applying for Engineering programmes must secure at least 65 percent marks. After selection, successful candidates must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Pakistan.
HEC advised candidates to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying. Applicants should complete the online application form with accurate information and upload all required documents. Incomplete or late applications may not receive consideration.

They should review programme details and follow the application instructions before submitting the form. The commission encouraged eligible students to apply early and avoid waiting until the final deadline of 10 August 2026.
