PPSC Biometric Verification Begins With Deputy Accountant Exam

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has introduced PPSC biometric verification for candidates appearing in its written examinations. The commission will launch the new system during the Deputy Accountant recruitment test on July 25 and 26. Officials say the initiative will make the examination process more transparent, secure and reliable. Moreover, the system will help ensure that only genuine candidates can take the examinations.

Over 60,000 Candidates to Complete Biometric Checks

According to the PPSC, more than 60,000 candidates will appear in the Deputy Accountant examination. Every candidate must complete biometric verification at the assigned examination centre before entering the exam hall. Therefore, officials have advised candidates to reach their centres early to avoid delays during the verification process.
PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed said the commission introduced biometric verification to strengthen the integrity of competitive examinations. He explained that the new system will prevent impersonation and improve public confidence in the recruitment process. In addition, the technology will help authorities verify every candidate’s identity quickly and accurately. Officials believe the move marks an important step toward adopting modern and secure examination practices across Punjab.

PPSC Plans to Expand the System

The Deputy Accountant examination will become the first written test to use biometric verification. However, the commission plans to extend the system to other large-scale recruitment examinations in phases. Officials confirmed that future written tests involving more than 60,000 candidates will also adopt biometric verification.
The PPSC believes the wider rollout will further strengthen fairness and accountability in public recruitment. As a result, the commission expects to reduce identity fraud and eliminate cases of impersonation during examinations. Officials also said the technology will improve monitoring at examination centres while making the recruitment process more efficient. Meanwhile, candidates have been advised to bring all required documents and cooperate with staff during verification.
