Hajj 2027 Applications to Be Processed Through HBL Under New Single-Bank System
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has decided to introduce a single-bank system for Hajj 2027 applications. Under the new policy, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) will exclusively receive Hajj applications and payments for both the government and private schemes. The move aims to simplify the application process and improve digital services for intending pilgrims.
HBL to Handle Hajj Applications and Payments
Previously, 16 banks accepted Hajj applications and collected payments. However, the ministry has now selected HBL as the sole bank for the process. According to sources, officials chose HBL because of its extensive branch network and advanced digital banking services.
Pilgrims will be able to submit Hajj 2027 applications online or visit any HBL branch to complete the process. In addition, they can deposit Hajj dues through the bank’s digital payment system. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and HBL are expected to sign a formal agreement in the coming days to finalize the arrangement.
The government also plans to begin receiving applications for the Hajj 2027 government scheme later this week. However, officials will announce the complete application schedule separately.
Pakistan Receives Hajj 2027 Quota
Pakistan has received a Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims for 2027. Under the approved allocation, 107,322 pilgrims will perform Hajj through the government scheme. Meanwhile, 71,888 pilgrims will travel under the private Hajj scheme.
The ministry expects the new single-bank system to make the process faster and more convenient. Moreover, centralized payments will help improve transparency and reduce administrative delays.
Officials believe the digital system will allow applicants to complete their payments more efficiently while giving them easier access to banking services across the country. As preparations for Hajj 2027 continue, the ministry is expected to release detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria, and the application timetable before registrations officially open.
