Karachi Board E-Marking: Oman Offers IT Cooperation

The Karachi Board has discussed education and IT cooperation with Oman. The meeting focused on modern exams and digital systems.Chairman Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi Faqir Muhammad Lakho met Omani Consul General Engineer Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari. The meeting took place at the Omani Consulate after an invitation from the consul general.

The two sides reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Oman. They also discussed education, information technology and modern examination methods.

Karachi Board Highlights E-Marking System

Lakho briefed the consul general about steps to modernise the examination system. He highlighted the board’s new Karachi Board e-marking system.The system moves paper checking from traditional methods to digital marking. As a result, it can make marking more organised, transparent and efficient.

Lakho said digital marking can also improve the quality of assessment. Moreover, it can reduce human errors during the examination process.The system can help officials monitor answer sheets more effectively. It can also improve record management and speed up result preparation.The initiative reflects the board’s wider efforts to adopt modern technology. Therefore, digital tools could play a growing role in future examinations.

Oman Offers Technical Cooperation

Al-Khanjari assured the board of Oman’s support in information technology. He also expressed readiness to promote technical cooperation between the two sides.Both sides discussed exchanging expertise in modern IT and digital systems. They also explored ways to use technology more effectively in examinations.Lakho welcomed Oman’s offer and stressed the value of international experience. He said modern IT facilities could further strengthen the board’s digital systems.

The meeting also created opportunities for future cooperation between education institutions. In addition, both sides can benefit from sharing knowledge and technical expertise.At the end, Al-Khanjari presented a commemorative shield to Lakho. The chairman then invited the Omani consul general to visit the Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi.
