Shehbaz, Nawaz Discuss Imran Khan Hospital Transfer
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra in Raiwind on Sunday. The two leaders discussed Pakistan’s political situation and other key matters, including Imran Khan’s hospital transfer.
PML-N leaders discuss political issues
Sources said the meeting continued for around two hours. Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif also discussed a possible alliance among opposition parties.The leaders reviewed several political developments during the meeting. They also considered the formation of a new government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to sources, the PML-N leaders discussed possible candidates for the AJK prime minister’s position. Shah Ghulam Qadir and Tariq Farooq emerged as names during the discussion.
The meeting also covered the situation surrounding former prime minister Imran Khan. The government recently transferred the PTI founder to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).The move followed a Supreme Court order concerning Khan’s medical treatment. The court had ordered authorities to shift him to Shifa International Hospital.
Government defends Imran Khan transfer
Opposition parties criticised the government’s decision to send Khan to PIMS instead. They argued that authorities did not follow the Supreme Court’s specific directions.However, the government rejected that criticism. Officials said they had complied with the court’s order by moving Khan to a hospital.The government also said doctors carried out Khan’s medical examination after his transfer. Officials maintained that the authorities had fulfilled the court’s instructions.
Meanwhile, the Shehbaz-Nawaz meeting comes amid important political developments.
