50-Year Energy Partnership: PSO and KPC Plan Next Phase
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) have marked a 50-year energy partnership. The cooperation has supplied Pakistan with Gasoil and Jet Fuel for five decades. Both companies now plan to expand their work into new energy projects.
PSO and KPC Expand Cooperation
Senior leaders from PSO and KPC gathered to celebrate the milestone. They also discussed plans to strengthen their relationship over the coming years.The partnership has survived major market changes and global crises. It has also helped maintain Pakistan’s fuel supply during difficult periods.PSO thanked the Government of Pakistan and the Petroleum Division. It also recognised the National Commodity Management Committee for supporting this long-running cooperation.
The companies now plan to expand cooperation in Motor Gasoline and LPG. They will also explore opportunities involving other petroleum products.In addition, PSO and KPC want to develop joint ventures in refining. They may also invest in petroleum storage and terminal facilities.Both sides are considering shipping and logistics partnerships as well. These projects could strengthen the supply chain and improve fuel security.
Focus Shifts to Future Energy Needs
The companies also want deeper cooperation on energy security and sustainability. Their plans will support the long-term priorities of Pakistan and Kuwait.A PSO spokesperson thanked Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al Sabah and the KPC leadership. The spokesperson also praised PSO CEO Jawwad Ahmed Cheema for strengthening international partnerships.The spokesperson said the relationship extends beyond commercial interests. It reflects friendship, mutual respect and solidarity between Pakistan and Kuwait.
PSO plans to welcome the KPC delegation to Pakistan for the next stage. Both sides will discuss and formalise a roadmap for the next 50 years.The expanded partnership could support Pakistan’s economic growth. It could also strengthen national energy security and create opportunities for future investment.
