Vision Education to Host Global Urban Planning Conference in Vienna 2026

Vision Education Brings Urban Innovation to Vienna
Vision Education, one of the leading educational foundations in the Kurdistan Region, will host its first international conference on urban planning and smart technologies in Vienna, Austria, from March 23 to 25, 2026.
Founded in Erbil in 2018 by Idriss Nechirvan Barzani, the foundation supports schools and universities across the region. Over the years, it has built strong partnerships to promote innovation and academic growth.

Education at the Heart of Sustainable Cities

The conference, themed “Cities and Regions of Tomorrow: Planning Together Through Education,” will explore how education drives sustainable and inclusive urban development.
According to the foundation’s statement, the event will focus on key challenges such as climate change, migration, and digital transformation. Experts from around the world will share insights on how education can shape smarter, greener, and more resilient cities.
The announcement follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Vision Education and REAL CORP, an international organization known for organizing smart-city and spatial-planning events since 1996.
“This partnership broadens our horizons professionally and geographically,” said Manfred Schrenk, Chairman of CORP. “Education is a central lever for sustainable transformation, and together we can create new momentum.”

Building the Future Through Learning

Prof. Dr. Dana Mawlood, CEO of Vision Education, said the collaboration reflects the foundation’s mission to connect education with regional development. “Education equips individuals and institutions with the vision and skills needed to respond to today’s urban challenges,” he added.
