PM Shehbaz Arrives in Malaysia to Boost Trade, IT, and Halal Industry Cooperation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Malaysia on Sunday for a three-day official visit. His trip aims to deepen Pakistan’s economic and strategic partnership with Malaysia. The visit focuses on expanding cooperation in trade, IT, the halal industry, education, and the digital economy.
Strengthening Economic and Strategic Ties
State broadcaster PTV News reported that the prime minister received a royal welcome at Kuala Lumpur’s Banga Raya International Airport. Malaysian Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil, Pakistan’s High Commissioner Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, and senior officials greeted him.
Later, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed Premier Shehbaz with full protocol at his official residence. The two leaders expressed their commitment to enhance bilateral ties. Shehbaz thanked his Malaysian counterpart for the warm hospitality and friendship between the two nations.
He said Pakistan values its strong relationship with Malaysia and seeks broader engagement in trade and technology sectors.
Expanding Cooperation Across Key Sectors
During this visit, both sides will hold high-level talks on trade, IT, halal industry, and education. Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed in multiple areas of cooperation.
Pakistan also aims to secure greater access to ASEAN markets, especially in halal meat exports. Officials say the visit reflects Pakistan’s vision of building stronger regional ties through technology and trade.
As a result, the trip is expected to open new opportunities for businesses and strengthen people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Malaysia.
