The Pakistan Australia Hockey Cup encounter at the Sultan of Johor Hockey Cup 2025 turned into a thrilling contest. Pakistan showed true determination, fighting back to secure a 3–3 draw after trailing early in the game. Fans witnessed end-to-end hockey, skillful play, and incredible resilience from both teams.
Australia began the match aggressively and controlled the first quarter. Their quick passing and sharp finishing earned them two early goals. However, Pakistan stayed composed and refused to surrender. Despite being down 2–0, the young Green Shirts regrouped with focus and energy.

Late Heroics Seal the Draw

In the second half, captain Haseeb Khan led by example. He converted a penalty corner to spark Pakistan’s comeback. Soon after, Abdul Rehman leveled the score at 2–2 with a stunning reverse flick. As a result, Pakistan gained momentum and started dominating possession.
Australia struck again midway through the final quarter, taking a 3–2 lead. However, Pakistan’s fighting spirit never faded. With only minutes left, Arbaz Ahmad found the equalizer through a brilliant team move, earning Pakistan a well-deserved point.
Head coach Rana Mujahid praised his players for their courage. “The team showed belief and never gave up,” he said. “This performance gives us confidence for the upcoming matches.”
