Airbnb CEO Plans to Bring ChatGPT-Powered AI to Travel Platform

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky has revealed that he plans to integrate ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence into the travel platform. However, he admitted that the technology “isn’t ready” just yet.
Speaking on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Wednesday, Chesky discussed the company’s long-term AI vision. He said that while the software still needs development, it will eventually transform how people plan and book travel.

AI and New Features on Airbnb

Earlier this week, Airbnb launched a series of new social features along with a more personalized AI chatbot in its app. These tools are designed to make it easier for users to connect, share experiences, and receive smarter recommendations.
Chesky believes this is just the beginning of a massive AI revolution. According to him, artificial intelligence will soon drive a new wave of innovation in consumer apps. He expects AI-powered platforms to reshape the way users interact with travel and hospitality services in the coming years.

The Future of AI in Travel

For now, Airbnb’s AI features are still evolving. But Chesky remains confident that once ChatGPT’s capabilities mature, it will play a big role in personalizing travel experiences.
As he put it, “AI will change everything — how we travel, how we plan, and how we connect.”
