Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Sheikha Moza Strengthen Ties in Education and Women’s Empowerment

During her visit to the Qatar Foundation on the sidelines of the 2nd World Summit on Social Development in Doha, Pakistan’s First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari met with Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Mother of the Amir of Qatar.
In a warm and constructive meeting, both leaders explored opportunities for collaboration in education, health, innovation, and women’s empowerment.

Recognizing Visionary Leadership in Education

The First Lady praised Her Highness Sheikha Moza for her visionary leadership in advancing human development and education through the Qatar Foundation and the Education Above All (EAA) initiative.
She commended EAA’s efforts in Pakistan, particularly its success in educating over 1.3 million out-of-school children through programs such as Educate a Child.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also welcomed the upcoming Pakistan Youth Leadership Initiative (PYLI), aimed at empowering young Pakistanis with essential educational, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills.

Empowering Women Through Skills and Education

Highlighting her own initiatives, the First Lady discussed her vocational and technical training programs for women in Pakistan, designed to help them achieve financial independence and leadership roles in their communities.
She proposed stronger academic partnerships between Pakistani universities and Qatar Foundation institutions, especially in teacher training and education research.
Her Highness Sheikha Moza expressed keen interest in these proposals and reaffirmed the Qatar Foundation’s commitment to supporting women’s empowerment and education in Pakistan.

Pakistani Students Shining in Qatar

Sheikha Moza noted that Pakistani students represent the fourth-largest group of international learners at the Qatar Foundation’s educational institutions. She praised their academic excellence and innovation, citing examples of student-led projects that reflect Pakistan’s growing global academic presence.
