Ice, Storm, and Heart Breaker Join Xbox Family

Microsoft has officially announced the Breaker Series, a new lineup of three special edition Xbox controllers set to release worldwide on September 9. For the first time, all three designs — the Ice Breaker, Storm Breaker, and Heart Breaker — are launching simultaneously, each offering its own bold visual identity while maintaining the core features of the Xbox Wireless Controller.

The Ice Breaker controller features a glacier-blue palette with a frosted translucent finish, blue-accented thumbsticks, and textured grips. By contrast, the Storm Breaker uses a sleek blend of black, white, gray, and metallic silver, paired with a metallic D-pad and opaque shell that give it a rugged, camo-like aesthetic. Rounding out the trio, the Heart Breaker offers the most vibrant look, with a translucent pink casing, purple thumbsticks, and shard-like pink, purple, and blue patterns.

Functionally, all three controllers are identical to the standard Xbox Wireless Controller, supporting Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows PC, Mac, Android, and iOS via Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. They all come with a 3.5mm headset jack, textured grips, and textured triggers. Players can also use the Xbox Accessories app to remap buttons, fine-tune triggers, and adjust vibration settings.

Preorders for the Breaker Series controllers are available now through the Microsoft Store and Amazon at $79.99 each. The coordinated launch follows Microsoft’s recent revival of Xbox Design Lab and continues the company’s focus on controller customization, while speculation remains around the long-rumored “Sebile” controller and the possible successor to the Elite Series 2.
