Mmotion App Launches Beta in NYC to Redefine Local Connections

A new social app called Mmotion has entered beta testing in New York City. Unlike traditional friendship apps like Bumble BFF, Mmotion focuses on real-time connections and shared interests. It also competes more directly with tools such as Snap Map and Find My, while Instagram has recently added a similar Map feature.
For now, the beta version is limited to just 1,000 members. However, Mmotion’s concept already stands out. The app uses geofencing and state tracking to monitor user movement. This helps highlight nearby people with similar interests, making spontaneous meetups easier.

Mmotion records where users go to suggest

In addition, Mmotion records where users go to suggest similar places worth exploring. It also provides a private location log, acting like a personal travel diary. Users can look back at their favorite cafes, art galleries, or local hangouts anytime.
To join Mmotion, users must apply for membership. Once approved, they can enter their interests and join themed Circles. For example, Circles may focus on hiking, live sports, or art exhibitions. Members can then send friend requests and chat through private messages.
As a result, Mmotion aims to bring people together in a more meaningful way offline and in real time. The app blends community, exploration, and personal discovery for those eager to connect beyond screens.
