Apple and Corning CEOs Highlight U.S. Manufacturing and Innovation on CNBC

Apple CEO Tim Cook and Corning CEO Wendell Weeks appeared on CNBC with Jim Cramer to shed light on their companies’ enduring partnership and shared vision for innovation. For more than a decade, Corning’s Gorilla Glass has been central to Apple devices, from the iPhone and iPad to the Apple Watch. Cook emphasized Apple’s continued investment in American manufacturing, pointing out that billions have been directed into advancing research and production capabilities, much of which has benefited Corning’s operations in the U.S.
Weeks explained that Apple’s backing has allowed Corning to push the boundaries of glass technology, producing materials that are thinner, stronger, and more sustainable. He noted that the collaboration not only strengthens both companies but also creates high-skilled jobs and drives supply chain resilience at a time when global manufacturing faces uncertainty.
While Cook and Weeks avoided disclosing details about upcoming Apple products, they stressed that innovation in advanced materials and sustainability would remain key priorities. Both leaders underscored the value of long-term partnerships in fueling progress. Their conversation with Cramer showcased how Apple and Corning’s collaboration continues to shape the future of technology while reinforcing commitments to U.S.-based manufacturing and economic growth.
