Arshad Nadeem’s Coach Criticizes AFP for Lack of Support During Tokyo Olympics

Arshad Nadeem’s coach has openly criticized the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) for not providing enough support during the Tokyo Olympics. He believes this lack of assistance badly affected the star javelin thrower’s performance.
According to the coach, Arshad faced several challenges in Japan, including limited access to proper training facilities. “Arshad trained hard, but we didn’t get the environment he deserved,” the coach explained. “Without proper support, it becomes difficult to compete against the world’s best.”

Poor Planning and Mismanagement

The coach pointed out that the AFP failed to plan effectively for the event. “There was no structured plan for Arshad’s preparation,” he said. “We needed better coordination, nutrition, and recovery programs. Unfortunately, these were ignored.”
He added that Arshad had to rely on his own efforts to stay motivated. “Despite everything, Arshad gave his best,” the coach stated. “However, better management could have made a huge difference.”

Call for Change in Pakistan Athletics

The coach urged authorities to take the situation seriously. “Athletes can’t perform on talent alone,” he stressed. “They need modern facilities, proper guidance, and consistent support.”
He also requested the federation to work more closely with coaches and players. “We must plan ahead for future competitions,” he said. “Only teamwork and professional handling can bring medals.”
