August 17 Opening for Hajj 2027 Applications

The August 17 opening will start Pakistan’s Hajj 2027 application process under the government scheme. Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf announced the date at a press conference. Applicants will pay the first instalment from August 17, while authorities will collect the second instalment in October.

Short Hajj scheme gets 30,000 slots

The government has reserved 30,000 places for the short Hajj scheme. Applications will follow a first-come, first-served system. Therefore, the process will close once officials receive enough applications to fill the quota.
Meanwhile, the government scheme has a total quota of 107,526 pilgrims. Officials expect about 400,000 people to register for Hajj 2027. This gap means interested applicants may need to apply early.
The minister also said authorities have moved the full application process online. As a result, applicants can complete key steps digitally without visiting banks or waiting in long queues.

Digital system to guide private pilgrims

Private pilgrims will also receive a simpler digital option. They can select a Hajj operator through the Pak Hajj App and make payments on the same platform. The minister advised pilgrims not to send money directly to any operator.
In addition, a private bank will serve as the official partner for receiving applications. Officials are currently completing the formal Hajj service agreement with the bank.
The bank will support applicants through more than 1,700 branches across Pakistan. It will also charge no fees, following Islamic banking guidelines.
The digital system aims to make registration faster and safer. It can also reduce confusion during the application process. Therefore, applicants should use official channels and follow government instructions carefully.
With strong demand expected, early preparation could help applicants avoid last-minute pressure. The August 17 opening marks the first major step toward the 2027 pilgrimage. Applicants should keep payment records safely.
