A Conference held at the Supreme Court on Monday marked the inception of the new judicial time. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi affirmed that the apex court has formally introduced digital case- form. Under this action, case lines are now being transferred electronically and are completely trackable online, making the process more transparent and effective. He stressed that several e-services have been rolled out, including e-copies, e-affidavits, e-delivery of orders and judgments, and e-notices supported by WhatsApp, SMS, and dispatch cautions. To strengthen the digital transition, the Court has upgraded its IT structure in Islamabad and branch registries, icing smooth online sounds for petitioners and attorneys likewise. Justice Afridi also revealed the establishment of an Overseas Petitioners Facilitation Cell, aimed at furnishing timely support and services to Pakistanis living abroad, thereby bridging the gap between the bar and citizens outside the country. The Chief Justice further emphasized the significance of fiscal responsibility, telling that, for the first time, the accounts of the Supreme Court for the financial time 2024 – 25 are being checked externally by professionals from the Audit Department of the Government of Pakistan. He added that the National Judicial Policymaking Committee( NJPC) has invited proffers from judges, the Pakistan Bar Council, and the Supreme Court Bar Association to contemporize court practices. After detailed reflections and variations, the Committee perfected the Supreme Court Rules, 2025. These were presented before the Full Court in April, reviewed considerably, and ultimately approved through rotation, officially notified on August 6, and published on August 9, 2025. Justice Afridi also said, NJPC will meet on October 17 to deliberate on significant judicial matters, including pending cases of missing persons, icing that institutional reforms continue to move forward with inclusivity and translucency.
