DGIP Passport Helpline: Citizens Asked to Use Official Support Channels

The DGIP passport helpline is now the primary contact for passport-related assistance, feedback, and complaints. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) urged citizens to use its official support channels for quick and reliable services. The department said the initiative reflects its commitment to providing transparent, accessible, and citizen-friendly passport services across Pakistan and abroad.

DGIP encourages citizens to use official support

The DGIP, which operates under the Ministry of Interior, advised Pakistanis at home and overseas to contact the Passport Helpline (UAN) at 051-111-344-777 for information and guidance. In addition, citizens can submit complaints and feedback through the Pakistan Citizen Portal.
According to the department, public feedback helps improve service quality and strengthens accountability. Therefore, officials encouraged users to report service-related issues through official channels. The DGIP said it remains committed to resolving complaints quickly and improving the overall customer experience.
The department also reaffirmed its focus on secure, efficient, and transparent passport services. As a result, it continues to expand digital services and strengthen its grievance redressal system.

Pakistan expands secure e-passport services

The statement comes as Pakistan gradually replaces traditional machine-readable passports (MRPs) with a modern e-passport system. Earlier, Director General of Passports Muhammad Abdul Khaliq said the upgraded system will allow citizens to apply for passports online, pay fees digitally, and receive their passports at their doorstep.
Pakistan introduced its first e-passport in 2022. Later, authorities upgraded the system in 2025 to meet international standards. The latest e-passports include laser engraving technology and digital security certificates. These features make the documents more secure and harder to forge.
Officials believe the digital passport system will improve convenience, strengthen security, and simplify passport services for Pakistanis worldwide. The DGIP urged citizens to rely only on its official helpline and the Pakistan Citizen Portal for authentic information, assistance, and complaint registration.
