Education Emergency Pakistan: Siddiqui Urges Urgent Action on School Crisis
Federal Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has urged the government to declare an education emergency in Pakistan. He raised concern over millions of out-of-school children across the country. He spoke at a teachers’ training ceremony held at Nazeer Hussain University.
Urgent Need for Education Emergency Pakistan
Siddiqui said nearly 25 million children remain out of school in Pakistan. He explained that poverty forces many children to leave education after age 10. Therefore, he stressed immediate action to declare an education emergency in Pakistan.
He added that education builds a strong and inclusive society. However, many barriers still block access to schools. For example, families struggle with rising costs and limited opportunities. As a result, children lose their chance to learn and grow.
The minister also shared global examples. He said countries like Brazil support underprivileged children with dignity. In addition, these systems help young people become skilled and confident citizens.
Teachers and Institutions Driving Change
Siddiqui praised teachers for their strong commitment to education. He highlighted the efforts of female teachers working in tough conditions. Despite low salaries, they continue to guide students and shape futures.
Moreover, he emphasized the role of institutions like Nazeer Hussain University. These institutions support training programmes and improve teaching standards. He added that new schools will become centers of learning and skill development.
Teachers actively joined the event and shared positive feedback. Many described the training as practical and helpful. In conclusion, Siddiqui distributed awards and essential items among participants to encourage progress.
