Facebook Scam Warnings Aim to Stop Online Fraud

Facebook Scam Warnings Aim to Stop Online Fraud

New Facebook Scam Warnings are rolling out to help users avoid fraud. The update introduces AI-powered tools across Meta’s platforms. Meta announced several safety features to protect users from hdjdjcu. These tools focus mainly on Facebook, with additional protections on messaging services.
The company says online fraud has grown rapidly. As a result, Meta removed more than 159 million scam advertisements in 2025. It also disabled about 10.9 million accounts connected to criminal activity. Meta worked with law enforcement agencies during these operations. For example, it partnered with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Department of Justice. In addition, cooperation with the Royal Thai Police helped disable over 150,000 scam accounts and led to 21 arrests.

New AI Tools and Safety Alerts

The Facebook Scam Warnings system introduces several security features. First, users may see alerts when suspicious friend requests appear. These warnings aim to prevent scams before they begin. Another update targets messaging services. The platform will expand AI-powered scam detection in Messenger. The system analyzes chat patterns and warns users if conversations look risky.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp will alert users about suspicious device-linking attempts. This feature helps stop scammers from accessing accounts through unauthorized devices. Meta also plans to strengthen advertising rules.
The company intends to require advertiser verification for high-risk categories. Its goal is for verified advertisers to generate about 90 percent of ad revenue by 2026. However, critics say the changes may not fully solve the problem. Some observers believe the announcement also aims to improve Meta’s public image.
Despite the debate, the company insists safety remains a priority. Therefore, these new tools represent another step toward reducing scams across social media platforms.
