Far Far West Playtest Brings Supernatural Co-op Shooting to Steam

A chaotic new co-op shooter is inviting players to test its supernatural western world. Far Far West has launched a public playtest on Steam, allowing gamers to experience its unique blend of cowboy action and undead horror. Developed by Evil Raptor and published by Fireshine Games, this 1-4 player cooperative shooter pits players against hordes of robotic cowboys and reanimated nightmares.
The game combines fast-paced shooting with extraction mechanics in a charming, skeleton-filled western setting. Players become bounty hunters taking on dangerous contracts from their town’s sheriff. Each mission requires eliminating powerful enemies, collecting loot, and escaping alive on the homebound train. The procedural elements ensure no two runs play exactly the same.

Dynamic Combat and Progression

Far Far West offers diverse combat options beyond traditional firearms. Players can wield magical fireballs alongside revolvers, adapting to different enemy types on the fly. Between missions, players can upgrade weapons, spells, and abilities in town to create their ideal robotic cowboy bounty hunter. The progression system allows for significant character customization.
The playtest showcases the game’s variety of enemies and environments. Players face everything from massive skeletal pterodactyls to hulking steam trains determined to end their journey early. With unlockable skins for both characters and horses, Far Far West encourages replayability while maintaining its western aesthetic throughout the customization options.

Early Access Approach

The public playtest represents Evil Raptor’s commitment to community feedback during development. This early access period allows the developers to refine gameplay balance and address technical issues before full launch. The studio behind Pumpkin Jack and Akimbot brings their experience with character-driven action games to this ambitious western project.
Far Far West joins a growing trend of cooperative extraction games but stands out with its unique supernatural western theme. The playtest is available now through Steam, giving players an early look at what could become the next cult hit in the co-op shooter genre. Wishlisting is available for those interested in the full release.
