FBR Portal Glitch Halts Income Tax Returns for Salaried Class

‎ISLAMABAD – A critical technical issue in the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) online tax filing system, IRIS, has left thousands of salaried individuals across Pakistan unable to file their income tax returns for the tax year 2025.

‎Taxpayers attempting to submit their salary returns are encountering a persistent error message on the IRIS portal stating, “Please enter correct receipt value.” Despite repeated efforts by tax professionals and legal experts, the glitch remains unresolved. The error is preventing the completion of the filing process, causing widespread frustration among the salaried class.

‎What’s more concerning is that the FBR helpline, intended to support taxpayers, has failed to provide any effective guidance or resolution. Instead of offering a practical fix, it has added to the confusion, with callers receiving vague responses or no clear direction.

‎With the official deadline for filing returns fast approaching, affected taxpayers are urging the government to take immediate action. There is growing demand for the FBR to not only fix the IRIS portal issues but also extend the filing deadline to accommodate those impacted by the system error.
