France Plane Crash Tragedy Kills 11 People Near Nancy
A France plane crash tragedy has claimed 11 lives in eastern France. The pilot and all 10 passengers died when the aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Nancy-Essey Airfield. Families Witnessed the Crash
Relatives had gathered at the airfield to watch first-time tandem skydives. Instead, they witnessed the aircraft crash moments after takeoff. Mayor Mathieu Klein expressed his deep sorrow, saying the victims died “in full view of their loved ones.” Chaynesse Khirouni also acknowledged the severe psychological trauma suffered by the families.
Investigation Underway
The Paris prosecutor’s office has launched an official investigation. French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed the inquiry. Investigators will examine every possible cause, including mechanical failure, pilot error, and weather conditions. Authorities have secured the crash site while forensic teams continue collecting evidence. Recovering and analysing the aircraft’s flight recorders will be a key part of the investigation, which could take several months.
The local community is mourning the devastating loss. Flags are flying at half-mast, while counsellors continue supporting grieving families. Aviation experts will also review operational procedures to determine whether additional safety measures are needed for skydiving flights.
