Girls’ School Reopens in Lakki Marwat After Eight Years, Restoring Hope for Education
LAKKI MARWAT — After eight long years, the Government Girls High School Dallo Khel has reopened, reigniting the hope of education for 281 girls who were deprived of learning due to a local dispute.
A Milestone for Girls’ Education
The school’s restoration became possible through the direct intervention of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah and Commissioner Bannu Division Khalid Mehmood. Their coordinated efforts brought a peaceful end to the conflict that had kept the school closed for nearly a decade.
Deputy Commissioner Hameedullah Khan, known for his strong administrative leadership, personally oversaw the reopening process. In addition, District Police Officer Nazir Khan, PSP, ensured full security and cooperation during the school’s rehabilitation.
Swift Renovation and Revival
A special fund of Rs600,000 was immediately released for renovation. Within just one week, classrooms were repaired and painted, furniture restored, and the compound cleaned and secured. As a result, the once-deserted building has transformed into a welcoming space for learning.
Renewed Dreams for Local Families
The reopening is being celebrated as a landmark achievement for girls’ education in Lakki Marwat, a region where access to quality schools remains limited. For many families, it symbolizes not just the revival of a building but the restoration of their daughters’ dreams.
Residents thanked the provincial administration for making education accessible again. Officials described the reopening as part of the government’s broader mission to empower girls through learning and to ensure no child in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is left behind.
