Google has expanded its Gemini for Education platform, now available across more than 1,000 colleges and universities in the United States, reaching over 10 million students and staff.
The AI-powered suite is being positioned as a comprehensive campus resource, offering support for classroom instruction, personalized learning pathways, research assistance, and data-driven administrative insights.
To support the rollout, Google is pairing the initiative with a significant investment in AI education and training programs, aimed at boosting digital literacy and equipping institutions to integrate AI responsibly. The company has also launched an accelerator program to help colleges explore practical use cases and establish best practices for AI adoption in higher education.
With this expansion, Google is signaling its intent to make AI tools a core part of the academic experience—both in the classroom and behind the scenes.
