Google Nano Banana 2 Launches With Faster 4K Image Generation
Google Nano Banana 2 is now official. The new image model creates faster and sharper visuals. Moreover, it replaces the previous default inside the Gemini app. The company upgraded realism and speed at the same time. As a result, users can generate better images in seconds. The model also works across Fast, Thinking, and Pro modes.
Faster Images With More Detail
Google first introduced Nano Banana in August 2025. Later, it launched Nano Banana Pro for higher quality images. However, Google Nano Banana 2 now blends speed with high detail. Users can generate images from 512px to full 4K resolution. In addition, the model supports different aspect ratios. This flexibility helps creators design content for social and professional use.
The new system keeps character consistency for up to five figures. It also maintains detail across 14 objects in one workflow. Therefore, storytelling becomes smoother and more reliable. Developers can access the model through the Gemini API, Vertex API, and AI Studio. Meanwhile, it powers image generation inside Flow, Google’s video editing tool.
Default Across Apps and Search
Google Nano Banana 2 now runs by default in the Gemini app. It also powers results in Google Search via Google Lens. Furthermore, AI Mode uses it across 141 countries. Subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra can still use Nano Banana Pro. They simply regenerate images through the menu options. Every image includes a SynthID watermark. This mark confirms AI-generated content. In addition, images support C2PA Content Credentials for transparency. Google says users verified SynthID over 20 million times since launch. Therefore, trust and authenticity remain a priority.
