Hotel Charged After Woman Trapped Under Heavy Furniture Dies

20 Safety Charges
Britannia Hotels now faces serious legal action. Two of its limited companies are involved. They face 20 charges of failing to ensure safety. The charges relate to employees and guests. The case appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court.
Case Moves to Crown Court
District Judge Paul Healey sent the case to a higher court. Liverpool Crown Court will hear the trial. An initial hearing is set for 4 June. The company has not yet commented publicly.
