HugoBank Receives SBP Pilot Approval for Digital Banking Launch

HugoBank SBP approval marks a key milestone for Pakistan’s emerging digital banking sector. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has allowed HugoBank to begin pilot operations before its commercial launch. The approval enables the bank to test its products, systems and services with a limited group of customers. As a result, HugoBank will evaluate its operational readiness while ensuring strong security, compliance and customer experience.

Pilot phase to test digital banking services

The pilot programme allows HugoBank to assess its digital banking platform under real-world conditions. During this phase, the bank will review system performance, customer interactions and operational processes. In addition, it will gather user feedback to improve its services before launching nationwide.

HugoBank aims to make banking simpler, faster and more accessible for people across Pakistan. The bank plans to remove many of the challenges linked with traditional banking. Therefore, it will focus on offering a secure, user-friendly and customer-first digital experience. The institution also wants to become a long-term financial partner by expanding access to modern financial services.

Bank focuses on security and financial inclusion

Chief Executive Officer Asim Hasan said HugoBank wants to promote financial freedom through simple and convenient banking solutions. He added that the bank combines the discipline of a financial institution with the flexibility of modern technology. He also said the bank remains committed to expanding secure digital financial services across Pakistan.

Meanwhile, HugoBank will continue strengthening its technology and risk management systems throughout the pilot phase. The bank will refine its products using customer feedback and operational insights. Furthermore, it will work closely with regulatory requirements before its full public launch. As a result, HugoBank expects to introduce a reliable digital banking platform that supports financial inclusion and meets the evolving needs of Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
