KP Bus Accident Kills 24 Passengers After Coach Plunges Into Ravine

The KP bus accident claimed more than 24 lives on Friday after a passenger coach plunged into a deep ravine in the Danasar area. The bus was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar when the tragic crash occurred. At least eight passengers suffered serious injuries in the accident. Rescue teams rushed to the scene with ambulances and emergency equipment. They shifted the injured to nearby hospitals while recovering the victims from the ravine. Authorities continued rescue efforts throughout the day because of the difficult terrain.

Rescue Operation Continues in Mountainous Area

District Sherani Deputy Commissioner Hazrat Wali Khan Kakar confirmed the accident and said emergency teams responded immediately after receiving the report. He added that officials from the district administration joined rescue workers at the site to supervise the operation.
According to Kakar, the bus fell into a deep gorge near the border of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As a result, many passengers died at the scene, while several others suffered critical injuries. Rescue workers carefully evacuated survivors and recovered bodies from the ravine despite the challenging mountainous landscape. Furthermore, medical teams remained on standby to provide emergency treatment to the injured.
Officials said the rescue operation was still underway as teams searched the area and worked to recover every victim. Authorities also coordinated with local hospitals to ensure prompt medical care for those who survived the crash.

Authorities to Investigate Cause of Crash

Officials have not yet confirmed what caused the accident. However, authorities are expected to launch a detailed investigation after completing the rescue operation. Investigators will examine the condition of the vehicle, the road and other possible factors that may have contributed to the crash.
The tragedy once again highlights the dangers of travelling on mountainous roads. Therefore, transport authorities continue to urge drivers to follow traffic rules and maintain vehicles properly before long-distance journeys. Officials are expected to release the final casualty figures after rescue teams complete their work. The government is also likely to review the circumstances surrounding the accident to help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
