Lahore Police Crack Down on Smog Violators in Anti-Pollution Drive

The Lahore anti-smog campaign is in full swing as police intensify actions against environmental violators. Authorities have arrested 83 people and registered 77 cases in the latest phase of the drive. Their goal is to reduce pollution and improve the city’s air quality.

Strict Action Against Polluters

A police spokesperson said on Monday that 68 people were arrested for emitting harmful smoke from factories, brick kilns, and vehicles. In addition, 9 people were detained for burning tyres, plastic, and shopping bags. Police also took 6 individuals into custody for setting fire to crop residues.from Iqbal Town Division. Each division is working closely with environmental teams to ensure swift action.

Use of Technology and Citizen Support

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, said the force is fully enforcing anti-smog Standard Operating Procedures. He added that the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s surveillance cameras help trace those involved in pollution activities.
Furthermore, Kamyana emphasized that police are giving complete legal support to departments tackling environmental violations. He directed officers to continue fair and firm action against all offenders.
Clean air is the best gift for our future generations,” Kamyana said. He also urged citizens to cooperate with the government and avoid pollution-causing practices. Together, officials believe Lahore can overcome smog and ensure a healthier environment for everyone.
