Monster Fantasy Combines Pokémon, Stardew Valley, And Monster Hunting
A new cozy RPG called Monster Fantasy is aiming to combine the best parts of Pokémon, Stardew Valley, and monster-hunting adventures into one accessible experience. Developed by emerging studio Jotoyo, the game is scheduled to launch in late 2027 and already looks like one of the most ambitious creature-collecting games on the horizon.
Monster Fantasy Lets Players Choose Their Own Adventure
Monster Fantasy offers two major gameplay paths. Players can focus on battling and collecting creatures or spend their time farming, decorating, gathering resources, and building a peaceful home. According to the developers, neither playstyle is mandatory, allowing players to shape the experience however they prefer.
The game features four combat classes including Warrior, Mage, Archer, and Swordsman. Players can switch classes freely without worrying about complicated builds. Defeated creatures can also be recruited and raised as companions, creating strong Pokémon-inspired gameplay elements.
Creatures Can Evolve And Help Players Explore
One of the most interesting features involves creature bonding and evolution. As players spend time with their companions, creatures grow stronger and evolve through multiple stages. Eventually, they can assist with resource gathering, travel as mounts, and even fight alongside players in combat.
Monster Fantasy also features a real-time day and night cycle that affects which creatures appear throughout the world. Players can adventure alone, team up with friends in co-op, or recruit villagers to join their journey.
A Free Demo Is Coming Soon
Although Monster Fantasy is targeting a 2027 release, players will not need to wait long for their first hands-on experience. Jotoyo plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign on July 15, accompanied by a free playable demo.
The Kickstarter is intended to expand the game’s scope with additional areas, deeper online features, and more story content. Even without extra funding, the game remains fully funded and scheduled for release.
With creature collecting, farming, co-op gameplay, and accessible combat all combined into one package, Monster Fantasy could become one of the most exciting cozy RPGs of 2027.
