Nahid Rana Powers Bangladesh to Historic Test Win Over Pakistan

Bangladesh secured a memorable win against Pakistan in the first Test in Dhaka. Nahid Rana starred with the ball and helped his team claim a 104-run victory. As a result, Bangladesh now lead the two-match series 1-0. Pakistan chased 268 runs for victory and looked comfortable at 119-3. However, Bangladesh fought back strongly in the final session. The home side bowled Pakistan out for 163 in a dramatic finish.

Rana Shines in Match-Winning Spell

Nahid Rana delivered the best performance of his Test career. The fast bowler took 5-40 and changed the game with pace and reverse swing. In addition, his final spell produced four wickets for just 10 runs. Debutant Abdullah Fazal tried to keep Pakistan in the contest with a brave 66 runs. He also shared a 51-run partnership with Salman Agha, who scored 26. However, Bangladesh’s bowlers stayed calm under pressure and sealed the win. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto praised the team’s effort after the match. He said the players had worked hard over the past few months. According to Shanto, the squad continues to improve in Test cricket. This victory was historic for Bangladesh. It marked their first Test win against Pakistan on home soil and their third overall against the rivals.

Shanto Matches Captaincy Record

The result also helped Shanto reach an important milestone. He equaled Mushfiqur Rahim’s record of seven Test wins as Bangladesh captain. Notably, Shanto achieved the feat in only 17 matches, while Mushfiqur needed 34 games. Therefore, the victory highlighted Bangladesh’s growing confidence in the longer format. Fans will now look forward to the second Test with excitement.
