ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has slightly reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for September. As per Sunday’s notification, the per kilogram price has dropped by Rs1.18, bringing it down from Rs215.37 in August to Rs214.19. Accordingly, the cost of an 11.8kg domestic cylinder now stands at Rs2,527.47 — Rs13.89 less than the previous month.
This follows a larger cut in August, when LPG prices saw a more significant drop of Rs17.73 per kg. Back then, the domestic cylinder price was set at Rs2,541.36, down from Rs2,752.58 in July.
OGRA stated, “The LPG producer price is linked with Saudi Aramco-CP and US dollar exchange rate.” While the Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) remained unchanged, a slight 0.69% decrease in the average dollar exchange rate led to this minor adjustment in consumer prices.
The revised prices are effective from September 1. LPG is widely used for domestic cooking and heating purposes in Pakistan, especially in areas without access to piped natural gas.
