Pakistan and Indonesia Sign New Cooperation Accords During Islamabad Visit

Pakistan and Indonesia signed several new cooperation accords in Islamabad on Tuesday. The signing took place during the two-day visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. His meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif set the tone for stronger ties and open dialogue. As a result, both nations renewed their commitment to long-term partnership.
The ceremony at the PM House brought together ministers and senior officials. They formally exchanged pre-signed agreements and Memorandums of Understanding. The event highlighted shared goals and growing trust between the two countries.

Expanding Collaboration Across Key Sectors

One of the major agreements focused on higher education. Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology and Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission signed a pact on the mutual recognition of degrees and certificates. Therefore, students and professionals from both nations will benefit from more academic mobility and easier qualification verification.
Another important agreement introduced “The Indonesian Aid Scholarships.” These documents were exchanged to support educational access and strengthen people-to-people ties. In addition, both countries signed an MoU on Halal trade and certification. This step will enhance quality control and open new business opportunities.
The two sides also signed an MoU to boost cooperation for Small and Medium Enterprises. This move aims to support entrepreneurs and promote sustainable economic growth. Furthermore, an MoU on archives cooperation will help preserve shared history and cultural knowledge.
Pakistan and Indonesia also focused on security and public welfare. They signed an MoU to prevent and combat illicit drug trafficking. Another agreement expanded cooperation in health. These steps will improve public safety, strengthen health systems, and encourage joint problem-solving.
Together, these new cooperation accords reflect a shared vision for inclusive growth, stronger institutions, and deeper regional ties.
