Pakistan-US Relations Gain Momentum as Islamabad Strengthens Global Diplomatic Role
Pakistan and the United States have made notable progress in their bilateral ties, according to a report by Vox. The report highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in international diplomacy and regional stability. As a result, Pakistan-US Relations have gained fresh momentum in recent months.
According to the publication, Pakistan played a key diplomatic role during the 2026 US-Iran conflict. Islamabad helped facilitate communication between Washington and Tehran at a critical time. In addition, Pakistan supported ceasefire efforts and encouraged negotiations aimed at reducing tensions between the two countries.
The report stated that US President Donald Trump publicly praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. It also noted that the current US administration has taken a different approach toward Islamabad than during Trump’s first term. Consequently, Vox described the change as a historic shift in Pakistan-US Relations.
Pakistan Emerges as a Trusted Diplomatic Partner
The report highlighted Pakistan’s ability to maintain productive ties with several major countries. These include the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. Therefore, Pakistan has strengthened its position in regional and Middle Eastern diplomacy.
Vox credited Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for leading Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach. Their efforts helped increase Islamabad’s role in conflict resolution and international engagement.
Furthermore, the publication claimed that Pakistan hosted high-level discussions between the United States and Iran. It described these talks as the most significant engagement between the two countries since 1979. Both Washington and Tehran reportedly viewed Pakistan as a reliable intermediary.

The report also pointed to growing counterterrorism cooperation between Pakistan and the United States. In addition, both countries have reportedly reached important agreements in the cryptocurrency and rare earth minerals sectors.
