Pakistani Women Climbers Summit Khusar Gang Peak

Eight Pakistani women climbers achieved the historic Khusar Gang summit after reaching the 6,040-metre peak in Gilgit-Baltistan. The successful expedition marked a major milestone for women’s mountaineering in Pakistan. The Alpine Club of Pakistan organized the second Women’s Khusar Gang Expedition.
Participants came from Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad. Their achievement reflected growing female participation in adventure sports. Moreover, it highlighted the country’s expanding mountaineering community.

Women Climbers Reach Historic Milestone

Expedition leader Bibi Afzoon guided the team throughout the challenging climb. Meanwhile, experienced high-altitude guides Ali Muhammad Sadpara, Sadiq Hussain Sadpara and Ilyas Hushe provided technical support during the ascent. In addition, Qaid Shigri handled rope-fixing duties to ensure a safer route for the climbers.
The team worked together at every stage of the expedition. As a result, all eight women successfully reached the summit. Their determination, teamwork and preparation played a key role in their success. Furthermore, the climb showcased the skills and confidence of Pakistani women in demanding mountain environments. The expedition also demonstrated that women can excel in high-altitude challenges with proper training and support.

Alpine Club of Pakistan Secretary General Ayaz Shigri congratulated the climbers on their remarkable success.
