Platinum Jewelry Strategy Pandora Expands Beyond Silver Prices
The Platinum Jewelry Strategy remains central to Pandora’s long term plan. The company continues its shift despite falling silver prices. This move helps reduce risk from volatile metal costs. Pandora aims to create more flexibility in its product range. Therefore, it now focuses on offering diverse materials to customers. The strategy also supports stable profit margins.
Why Pandora Is Changing Materials
CEO Berta de Pablos Barbier confirmed the company’s direction. She explained that Pandora wants a stronger and more adaptable portfolio. As a result, platinum-plated jewelry is gaining importance. Silver prices recently dropped from a multi-year peak. However, Pandora is not reversing its earlier decision. Instead, it sees long-term value in material diversification. For example, silver once crossed $120 per ounce earlier this year. Now, it trades closer to $65 per ounce. This sharp drop highlights price volatility.
Financial Performance and Growth
Pandora reported strong quarterly results. Its profit beat expectations, mainly due to a one off U.S. tariff refund. In addition, the company raised its 2026 growth guidance. Operating profit reached 1.46 billion Danish crowns. This result reflects a margin of over 20%. Moreover, the company expects margins to rise further this year. Organic growth stood at 3% for the quarter. Meanwhile, like for like growth showed a smaller but steady increase. These figures suggest stable demand.
Silver Hedging and Market Confidence
Pandora has hedged most of its future silver needs. It secured 90% to 100% of 2027 silver at around $65 per ounce. Therefore, it protects itself from sudden price swings. The company’s stock also performed well. Shares rebounded strongly after a weaker period last year. Analysts link this recovery to falling silver prices and better earnings. Investors remain confident in Pandora’s direction. The focus on platinum and diversification supports long term stability.
