PM Shehbaz Sharif Announces New Gas Connections for Domestic Consumers
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced new gas connections for domestic consumers across Pakistan. He made the announcement while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Sunday. The event marked the resumption of Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) connections for households.
The Prime Minister said the government decided to open new connections after receiving continuous public requests. He explained that this move reflects the government’s commitment to addressing public needs. Therefore, households will now gain access to affordable and reliable gas supplies.
Government Focuses on Public Demand
Shehbaz Sharif recalled the challenges his government faced in 2022, when citizens demanded new gas connections amid a supply shortage. However, he noted that the situation has now improved significantly. With the new decision, millions of homes can benefit from better energy access.
He added that the government aims to balance affordability with sustainability. As a result, citizens will enjoy improved comfort during winter without facing excessive energy costs.
Petroleum Minister Highlights Progress
In a video message, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik reaffirmed the government’s
commitment to public welfare. He said the Sui Northern Gas Company earned a profit of 29 billion rupees last fiscal year. The achievement, he noted, reflects improved management and financial stability.
Malik emphasized that the ministry continues to enhance service delivery. He promised that future projects will focus on transparency, efficiency, and public convenience.
